About Dr. Gene and Sue Lingerfelt, Pastors and Founders of Cathedral Of Praise, Cathedral Christian Academy, and Overcoming Faith Television

Dr. Gene and Sue Lingerfelt serve as founders and pastors of the Cathedral Of Praise in Arlington, Texas, an international Word and faith church that is reaching the nations for Christ by changing the world one life at a time with the good news of the Gospel. The Lingerfelts are now seen weekly throughout much of the United States on the Overcoming Faith Television broadcast, which is also available online twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Dr. Lingerfelt answered God’s call at the age of seventeen, and Gene and Sue were later married in 1976. Each earned degrees from Texas Christian University, while Gene Lingerfelt later earned his doctorate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Since then, their ministry journey has taken them around the world.

Cathedral Of Praise was founded on January 1, 1984. Built by the power of the Lord Jesus Christ and dedicated to the faith message, the Cathedral Of Praise has grown to more than 2,000 members. The far-reaching scope of the ministry has seen Dr. Gene and Sue Lingerfelt pioneer more than 60 churches in Latin America and Africa, as well as in the United States. Since 1989, Pastors Gene and Sue Lingerfelt and their covenant faith partners have led over 235,000 people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and have given away more than 6.5 Million into God's harvest fields. The Cathedral Of Praise has also recently purchased an additional 83 acres for future expansion into a 450,000 square feet, world-class facility. The soon-coming Phase I will include more than 72,000 square feet, tripling the size of the current multi-purpose church facility located in Arlington, Texas.
